Livorno is situated in a wide plain along the Tuscan coast, south of Pisa in what is still considered the Lower Valdarno region (Valdarno inferiore). This area in central-western Tuscany lacks of important rivers and hills; here only some minor torrents flow - such as the Ugione, the Rio Ardenza and the Rio Maggiore. South of Livorno there is a chain of modest hills called the Monti livornesi (Livorno Mountains), the highest of which is the Poggio Lecceta (m. 462). Livorno is city of art, with its famous squares, his Terrazza on the sea, museums and churches; but it is also nature with his gilded coasts and the wonderful beaches. One holiday in Livorno can be an unique and unforgettable experience, of rest and amusement.
